Abstract
In general callus cultures can be an alternative source to produce plan t secondary metabolites. This research aimed to test anti-bacterial properties of Dendrobium crumenatum Sw. petroleum ether : chloroform extract derived from callus and leave. Leave extract with concentration of 500 and 1000 ppm performed antibacterial activity toward Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, nnd Salmonella thypi. Extract with concentration of 100 ppm performed anti-bacterial activity toward Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, and Salmonella thypi, and smaller extract concentration of 50 ppm performed anti-bacterial activity only toward Escherichia coli, and Salmonella thypi. Bactericidal property was only observed toward Escherichia coli by extract concentration of 1000 ppm.
