Abstract
This study aims to develop a tool for assessing the performance of schools through the adoption of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award (MBNQA) for education. Consideration to adopt the model is to complete the assessment criteria that is published and conducted by Badan Akreditasi Nasional Sekolah/Madrasah (BAN S/M), therefore the schools could have a systematic guidance in making continuous improvement due to the achievement of school excellences. Stages of development of the model includes: (a) review of the criteria in the accreditation forms for school of BAS and MBNQA for education, (b) create a model that integrating of those two models, (c) design the questionnaire as a tool for assessment of performance, and (d) create of the software applications "The Excellence Performance of School-1.0 version (Ki Sekul v 1.0)" as an instrument to facilitate the school in entering and processing data performance, and display the results of the school performance’s assessment (self-assessment), and (e) the results of the validation of the model through the application software. The usage of Ki Skul v 1.0 as perfomance excellence software is also proposed for educating the schools in utilizing ICT and eliminating paper works for sustainability issue.
