Abstract

Development of the textile industry, leather goods and footwear in Indonesia is growing rapidly,as the three major contributors to GDP in Indonesia make the textile industry, leather goods and footwear plays an important role in the economy of Indonesia. The manufacturers of leather and leather products of the world, see Indonesia have a potential market for them. However since the agreement of the ASEAN-China Free Trade Asia (ACFTA) is formed, many Chinese products invade the cities in East Java. As one solution to cope with the proliferation of cheaper products from China, craftsmen use imitation leather as a raw material for making leather products. Business people trying to capture these opportunities to provide synthetic leather instead of genuine leather one is UD. Afuk which is located in Surabaya business entity that sells textile products in the form of imitation leather sheets are typically used for furniture upholstery (sofas, tables), car upholstery,shoes, bags and others. Problems contained in the UD. Afuk lack of stock for imitation leather HD Polos and HD SN Printing. So that the UD. Afuk not be able to maximize its profits if have a lack of inventory. This study aims to determine inventory control of imitation leather HD Polos and HD SN Printing at UD. Afuk in Surabaya is associated with the decision of the optimal ordering of imitation leather and the optimal inventory costs of imitation leather. Inventory control methods that will be applied to the two products at UD. Afuk is a Markov Chain, a Stochastic process in which the incident currently dependent on previous events, and only depends on time only. The method can connect between demand now with the previous demand, then the Markov Chain model can calculate the amount of imitation leather to be ordered to meet consumer demand at a time when that will come, so that the estimated costs can be reduced and consumer demand can be met. The findings showed that the UD. Afuk purchase many - times in small quantities in the two products, while using the Markov Chain method suggested for the addition of stock in accordance with existing inventory levels. Inventory cost of imitation leather HD Polos and HD SN Printing in accordance with the optimal inventory levels.
