Abstract

Abstract— Banten is one of the emerging province in Indonesia with many geographical advantage and high cultural heritages. One of many cultural heritage of Banten is their traditional martial arts, Pencak Silat. Souvenirs are one of many ways to communicate the cultural heritage and gain awareness by the people locally and internationally. This paper aims to design a souvenir which utilized the local cultural heritage of Banten Province, Pencak Silat as the main inspiration for souvenir design. Both qualitative and quantitative method were utilized in the creation of the souvenir with the observation of Pencak Silat movements. Furthermore, Backpack, watch strap, gloves and hand bag were chosen to be the suitable souvenir as it has the highest functional values with the Pencak Silat movements as the main inspiration of embellishment design on the souvenirs.
