Abstract
KTS has good validity and reliability as a personality scale. However, the basic theories that constructing this scale is irrelevant to be used for determining four personality types based on philosophers’ idea. The aims of this study was designing a personality measurement tool or scale using the basic theory of Jung-Myers and the development of Eysenck theory to complete the weaknesses of KTS. This personality scale was named as Mixed Personality-Trait Inventory (MPTI). MPTI was designed with 50 items divided into five dimensions. The validity of 50 items MPTI was tested using 264 college students in PETRA Christians University (using form: MPTI, BFI), five experts in personality theories and statistics (using forms: CVR), and three random chosen students (to be interviewed) as participants. The data was analyzed using some technique such as content validity ratio, cognitive interview analysis, factor analysis, reliability test, and multitrait-multimethod (MTMM). The results showed that 26 MPTI items had good validity according to content validity, validity based response process, and validity based on internal structure. While 24 other items of MPTI did not meet the determined criteria on the results of the analysis. Thus, MPTI officially uses 26 items with five dimensions of personality that have been proved for its validity. The five dimensions were extrovert vs. introvert, sensing vs intuition, thinking vs. feeling, judging vs. perceiving, and stability vs neurotics.
