Abstract
Every industry has employee turnover problems and difficulties in dealing with it. Employee turnover is one of the most expensive labor challenges and can affect other staff members. In addition, employee turnover can affect the service and quality that is given to customers resulting in the loss of long-term customer relations, and can also cause a decrease in motivation and morale. The high employee turnover shows the low employee engagement, while employee engangement can bring the company to profitability and growth. This study uses qualitative method and focuses to handle the employee turnover problem in the largest restaurant in Bojonegoro, namely Adelia Cafe ‘N Resto by using gamification. Gamification moves as a machine to improve the employee engagement and true loyalty, so that it can reduce the rate of employee turnover. The first step in implementing the gamification design in this study resulted in a positive effect for the restaurant following an increase in employee work motivation, service quality to customers, and also sales of restaurant menus. So, it is expected that the implementation of the overall conceptual design of gamification in this study in the future can be a solution to the problem of employee turnover and employee engagement in Adelia Cafe ‘N Resto.
