Abstract

Nutritional labels on processed food products provide important information for consumers with certain medical conditions as well as in informing the nutritional values of a certain food product for a consumer's personal nutritional needs. According to the Act No. 18 of 2012 on Food, a nutritional label on a processed food product is compulsory. Food producers must provide nutritional labels that correspond to the actual nutritional values of their processed food products, otherwise consumers may take them to court for misleading claims. With the proliferation of convenience stores such as Indomaret and Alfamart, processed food products become more widely distributed and hence easily obtainable. One of such popular products is condensed milk. Two year-old Rasyad was a condensed milk consumer until his body mass went down to just 4.8 kg.
