Abstract

Dengue is an arthropod-borne infectious disease caused by dengue virus (DENV) infection and transmitted by Aedes mosquitoes. Approximately 50–100 million people are infected with DENV each year, resulting in a high economic burden on both governments and individuals. The prevalence is increasing across South East Asia, Africa, America and Western Pacific. DENV infection results in a broad spectrum of clinical symptoms, ranging from mild fever to DHF, and then progress to DSS and death. The pathophysiological parameters for theearly recognition of plasma leakage and appropriatem fluid therapy.
