Abstract
This study is a preliminary study of the system of monitoring changes in forest area. Stages of research include the selection of the reference color to the forest vegetation, the transformation of RGB to HSV color space, feature extraction and image segmentation based on color is used to obtain the forest area. At the end of the study was conducted on a total region of forests and forest area of the image
