Abstract

The Dolly localization area, Putat Jaya has been closed since 2014. Since its closure, the Surabaya city government has carried out many empowerment programs to improve the economy of the people living in the Dolly localization area. Nutritional status is closely related to economic lever. This research is a type of observational research, cross sectional design which aims to determine the nutritional status of people living in the ex-Dolly localization area using body mass index data for people living in the ex-Dolly localization area and people living in nonex-Dolly localization areas. The results of statistical tests using the Chi-Square Fisher’s Exact test show that there is no difference in nutritional status between people living in the non-ex Dolly area. This is thought to be due to improvements in economic conditions and due to the success of the empowerment program carried out by the Surabaya city government .
