Abstract

Student organizations in the university environment serve not only as a platform for academic development but also as a crucial means to foster students’ soft skills. The demands within these organizations and the responsibilities as a student are indicated to have an impact on the social well being of their members. This research aims to examine the influence of student organization training using the Psychological Sense of Community variable on individual social well-being. The study adopts a one-group pre-post test experimental design, involving 14 participants who will undergo a specially designed training program to enhance social well-being. Data analysis employs a t-test to compare social well-being levels before and after the training, with statistical significance measured at p<0.05. The results indicate a significant difference in social well-being levels after the training, with a significance of 0.006, p<0.05. Factors influencing the effectiveness of the training include participants’ awareness of the need for insights and materials, participant engagement, and educational levels. This research contributes to understanding the role of student organizations in enhancing the social well-being of students or their members. The practical implication is that training on the Psychological Sense of Community within student organizations can significantly influence individual social well-being. Therefore, universities and student organizations may consider enhancing training programs to support holistic student development.
