Abstract
Abstract: Postponement of Debt Payment Obligation (PKPU) is a legal process that involves the submission of an application by a party who has an unpaid debt to the PHI Court. In some cases, workers who have won the trial related to their severance pay apply for PKPU to suspend the payment of severance pay that has been decided by the PHI Court. This research aims to analyze this phenomenon and understand the rationale behind PKPU applications by workers in the context of severance pay that has been decided. The research method involves a case study of several PKPU cases involving workers with severance pay that has been decided by the PHI Court. Data was collected through interviews with relevant parties, analysis of legal documents, and review of relevant literature. The results show that PKPU applications by workers in severance pay cases that have been decided by the PHI Court can be influenced by several factors. These factors include company finances, changes in economic conditions, and legal strategies used by workers. In addition, workers' perception of the risk of severance pay also plays an important role in their decision to file for PKPU.
