Abstract
Female middle school teachers across generations exhibit unique characteristics in managing their work and family lives. This research aims to uncover the dynamics and differences in work-family conflict (WFC) experienced by these female middle school teachers across generations. A case study was utilized in this research. The participant criteria included married female middle school teachers from both public and private schools, who have co-residing children and a minimum of one year of teaching experience. The participants consisted of nine female middle school teachers categorized as Generation X and Generation Y. The research method utilized a list of semi-structured interview questions developed by the researcher to collect data, and the data were analyzed thematically. The following themes were found: sources of conflict, consequences of conflict, coping strategies, and social support from both the work and family domains. The research findings indicate that most participants reported a relatively high workload (administrative duties, technology adaptation, and multiple roles) without neglecting domestic responsibilities. This finding expands the understanding of work-family role balance within the context of Indonesian culture
