Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategic factors that support the creation of sustainable competitive advantage at PT Avia Avian Tbk, one of the leading companies in the paint and building coatings industry in Indonesia. The study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with a case study method. The data used are secondary data obtained from the company's annual reports, sustainability reports, official publications, and various relevant scientific literature and journals. The analysis was conducted using PEST Analysis, Porter's Five Forces Analysis, Industry Life Cycle Analysis, Value Chain Analysis, and Competitive Profile Matrix (CPM). The results of the study indicate that PT Avia Avian Tbk has a strong competitive position supported by an extensive distribution network, product innovation capabilities, vertical integration, operational efficiency, and a commitment to sustainability. From the external environment, the company benefits from the growth of the construction sector, increasing demand for environmentally friendly products, and technological developments that support innovation. Meanwhile, the level of competition in the paint industry in Indonesia is relatively high, although the threat of new entrants and substitute products is relatively low. The CPM results indicate that PT Avia Avian Tbk has a better competitive advantage compared to several major competitors in the industry. This study concludes that a company's ability to manage internal resources, strengthen innovation, and adaptively respond to changes in the business environment are key factors in maintaining sustainable competitive advantage. The research findings are expected to serve as a reference for manufacturing companies in formulating business strategies oriented toward long-term growth and sustainability .
