Abstract

Prostate cancer (PCa) and pancreatic cancer (PC) are distinct malignancies with unique epidemiological and prognostic characteristics. PCa, the most diagnosed cancer in male individuals, and PC, an aggressive malignancy with poor survival rates, pose significant diagnostic challenges. Early detection is critical, as PCa symptoms often mimic benign prostatic hyperplasia, while PC is frequently asymptomatic until advanced stages. Multiple primary malignancies (MPMs), whether synchronous or metachronous, are increasingly observed due to advances in screening and prolonged cancer survival. Patients with a primary malignancy may have an elevated risk of developing secondary cancers, with emerging studies suggesting a potential link between PCa and PC. Managing MPMs requires personalized therapeutic strategies, balancing curative and palliative approaches while considering treatment sequencing and cumulative toxicity. Timely reporting of rare synchronous cases is essential to guide clinicians in managing complex presentations and evolving therapeutic strategies. This case report outlines the complex clinical course of a patient diagnosed synchronously with PCa and PC. It summarizes the diagnostic challenges, imaging modalities used, evolving clinical presentation and multidisciplinary therapeutic strategies. By detailing this case, the present study aimed to highlight the obstacles in MPM management, contribute to the literature on rare concurrent malignancies and provide insights into optimizing patient outcomes.
