Abstract

This study discusses a vehicle parking problem that determines how vehicles must be allocated to available parking areas. Such a parking location recommendation becomes possible due to the development of big data and information technologies. A real system’s setting is considered, in which the vehicles’ arrival times and parking durations are uncertain. It mimics real vehicles’ parking behavior that might be caused by traffic conditions and unexpected change of plans of the passengers. To solve the problem, a mathematical model is proposed. The model is solved to obtain the best solution that works the best for various scenarios with different uncertain factors. The numerical experiments show the effectiveness of the proposed model. Future topics to observe are listed at the end of the study. Keywords: Vehicle Parking, Uncertain Arrivals, Uncertain Parking Durations, Mathematical Model
