Abstract
The system reported in this paper is developed for a specific use of finding students’ profile who are studying at the University of Surabaya. The system is setup online and can be accessed at any time within the period determined by the university. The system is built based on the Adversity Quotient and calculates the results as soon as the student completes all questions. Some phases applied in building the system. These include reviewing references, performing analysis by interviewing people who understand the subject, designing data, processes and user interface, and implementing as well as testing the implemented system. At the beginning, the system was used to map the 2005 class students. The result can be seen via web by inputting the student’s id and his/her password. The university and faculty board can also do the same thing to see the mapping of their students. The system is actually used in 2006 for three consecutive days to evaluate new students’ performances during their orientation period.
