Abstract

This study examines the influence of financial education in the family, financial literacy, lifestyle, and locus of control on investors' financial behavior. This research is interesting because it combines two psychological variables: lifestyle and locus of control. This type of research uses a quantitative approach using the SEM (Structural Equation Modeling) analysis method. This research was conducted with a focus on stock investors who are included in the Generation Z category. The results stated that financial education in the family has a significant favorable influence on financial behavior. Furthermore, financial literacy also has a significant positive effect on financial behavior. Lifestyle does not affect financial behavior. Finally, locus of control does not affect financial behavior. The novelty of this research is that it provides novelty in terms of using psychological factors that are pretty important, namely locus of control and lifestyle in Generation Z investors, which have not been widely researched in Indonesia. The focus is on generation Z because they are the majority of investors today and are a generation that will increasingly develop in the future.
