Abstract
The discovery of the flynn effect (FE) (Neisser, 1999), i.e. the rising of IQ scores between generations, has shocked many experts in psychological testing. Though already detected in more than twenty industrial/developed countries, the cause remains a mystery. This preliminary study is keen to follow the IQ scores of high-school students (N=969) in Sidoarjo, to investigate whether the FE prevails in developing countries, as well, especially in Sidoarjo, an industrial town, South of Surabaya. Results reveal no FE yet. The possibilities of the differences between people of industrial/developed countries and people in industrial but still developing countries are discussed
