Abstract

Tie dye patterns which tends to be used are abstract and geometric patterns. They are highly recommended as Moslem apparel because Islamic teachings does not allow the use of creatures motif to be worn for cloths . Therefore , this research was conducted because study of fabrics material processing techniques except cotton had also never been done before and the use of tie dye techniques had already widely used. The purpose of the study is to examine the trend of tie dye application in society , especially in the Moslem fashion and find alternative application technique of tie dye by doing fabrics material processing techniques except cotton and not using t-shirts. The method which is used in this research is a qualitative method, the method of obtaining data using observation , experimentation, and focus group discussion. The results are some experiment outcomes which have been done using various fabrics that are expected to be the solution of people’s boredom for tie dye application using cotton. In addition, the techniques are easy and the outputs has never been exactly same so that it can increase the value of the products which are using tie dye techniques because their uniqueness.
