Abstract

Modern MCS mechanism built from the assumption that humans as rational beings. This mechanism is not effective enough to control the creative workers because modern MCS creates illusion of control conditions. Humans have a complex element. Just by looking at the holistic human, then the MCS design will be more effective. This study tries to find a new solution that is more holistic MCS. This study tries to explore Eastern philosophy, Valmiki’s Book of Ram to see the essence of SPM through discourse analysis methodology. Furthermore, this research will be strengthened by empirical studies to look at the implementation and implications of MCS in the company. Empirical research is also reinforced by the interview and observation as a form of triangulation. Through the second phase of the methodology, it was found that both modern MCS and Valmiki thoughts, each has advantages and disadvantages. Merging all three led to the ideal concept for holistic MCS. Business practices require a holistic SPM model, which is able to cover the human ratio, emotion, and spirit and view humans as holistic beings. The right combination of Modern and Valmiki approaches creates innovative conceptual model of MCS.
