Abstract
Swamedikasi merupakan upaya pasien untuk mengobati gangguan kesehatan yang dialami dengan produk obat tanpa resep dokter.Salah satu golongan obat yang sering digunakan secara swamedikasi adalah analgesik.Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk memberikan gambaran swamedikasi analgesik di masyarakat Surabaya Timur, khususnya Kecamatan Mulyorejo.Penelitian ini bersifatdeskriptif observasional, melibatkan 225 pasien dari 9 apotek.Data diambil menggunakan kuesionerberisi profi l sosiodemografi , frekuensi penggunaan analgesik, dan profi l analgesik yang dibeli pasien. Analisis dilakukan dengan membandingkan rata-rata frekuensi swamedikasi analgesik berdasarkan profi l sosiodemografi pasien. Hasil menunjukkan rata-rata frekuensi penggunaan analgesik swamedikasi sebesar 10,71 (95%CI 8,81-12,60) kali dalam sebulan. Rata-rata frekuensi penggunaan analgesik swamedikasi dapat berbeda berdasarkan profi l sosiodemografi . Pasien berjenis kelamin lakilaki, lansia, tidak bersekolah, belum bekerja, memiliki penghasilan rendah, tinggal sendiri/bercerai, memiliki riwayat merokok atau minum alkohol menunjukkan nilai rata-rata frekuensi swamedikasi lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelompok lainnya. Hasil penelitian profi l analgesik menunjukkan mayoritas pasien (80,0%) membeli 1 jenis analgesik. Golongan analgesik yang paling sering (67,03%) dibeli adalah non steroidal anti-infl ammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Sakit kepala (42,22%) merupakan keluhan yang seringkali mendorong pasien melakukan swamedikasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian,edukasi swamedikasi analgesik sebaiknya lebih difokuskan pada kelompok pasien dengan latar belakang sosiodemografi tertentu dan golongan obat NSAIDuntuk menghindari penggunaan analgesik yang kurang bertanggung jawab. Self-medication is patient’s eff orts to treat health problems with unprescribed drug. The most often drug used as self-medication is analgesic. This research aimed to describe analgesic self-medication profi le among East Surabaya communities, especially Mulyorejo subdistrict. This study is observational descriptiveinvolving 225 patients from 9 pharmacies. Data collected using validated questionnaire contains sociodemographic profi les, frequency of using analgesic, analgesic profi les purchased by the patients. Data analyze perfomed by comparing average of analgesic self-medication frequency based on patients’ sociodemographic profi les. Results showed average frequency of analgesic used as selfmedication is 10.71 (95% CI 8.81-12.60) times a month. The average frequency of analgesic used as self-medication diff er based on sociodemographic profi les. Male patients, elderly, low education level, unemployed, low income, living alone/divorce, having history of smoking/drinking alcohol, showed higher average frequency of self-medication than others. Majority of patients (80.00%) bought 1 type of analgesic. The most common analgesic group (67.03%) is NSAIDs. Headache (42.22%) is a symptom that often encourages patients to use analgesic. Based on the results of the study, education about the use of analgesic as self-medication can be more focused on groups with a particular sociodemographic background and NSAIDs drug groupsto avoid the less responsible use of analgesic.
