Abstract

This study aims to examine the interdependent mechanism Between dividend and dept policies as well as the influence of institutional ownership against both of the policies in manufacturing companies listed in IDX. The sample of this study was all manufacturing companies in Indonesia in the year of 2010-2014 which were listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange. The sample used in this study were 134 companies with 664 observation. The approach used was quantitative approach with a model of two stage least squere (2SLS). The programs used for data processing was Eviews 4.1. The result of this study indicate that in minimizing the agency problem, dividend policy and debt can interchange or can be said that there is trade-off among dividend and debt policy. The study also found indications that institutional ownership is not effective in minimizing agency problem in the company.
