Abstract

Renewable energy in the form of electricity consumption and renewable energy capacity plays an important role in welfare and supports the achievement of economic development. In this case, PT PLN Persero is the only electricity and renewable generation provider in Indonesia. Based on data from the 2012-2022 quarter, measurements and tests were carried out using the Two Stage Least Square method. This research found that new renewable energy and electricity consumption affect Indonesia's economic growth. In addition, Indonesia's economic growth has a significant effect on employment. This shows that the increase in GDP derived from renewable energy capacity and the amount of electricity consumption has proven to be able to provide many jobs and can absorb the massive labor force in Indonesia.
