Abstract

This study aims to explore how business school students understand and have the intention and idea to practice circular economy specifically in the context of their daily campus activity. Also, this study discusses the factors needed to support the practice of circular economy on campus. This qualitative research uses the business school of YELLOWSA University in Surabaya as a case study to be analyzed further. All data was taken from the field research through interviews, group discussions, and document analyses. Interviews and discussions were conducted with a total of sixteen people, students and lecturers at the business school. The results of this study show that most students have a minimum understanding of the circular economy concept. However, there are significantly different results regarding the interest and intention of all students to practice circular economy. This study highlights that students have implemented several activities and encouraged student organizations to practice several activities related to the circular economy, mainly for cost-efficiency reasons.
