Abstract

SULARÉ is a coffee tumbler design inspired by the iconic roof shape of the Tongkonan house and the ceremonial space philosophy of Rante in Toraja. In Torajan culture, Rante serves as a sacred communal space where ancestral spirits and social life intertwine, while suling (flow) symbolizes the movement of water, air, and spiritual values. This product blends cultural richness, spirituality, and contemporary function into a singular design object. Carrying the philosophy of “cultural flow from sacred land,” this tumbler acts as a keeper of stories and local identity.
