Abstract

This study examines the Yadnya Kasada ceremony among the Tengger community through the lens of cultural psychology by integrating the concepts of gratitude and collectivism. The study employs a theoretical literature review with a descriptive-analytical approach to relevant sources on the Tengger people, the Yadnya Kasada ritual, gratitude, collectivism, and cultural psychology. The analysis shows that Yadnya Kasada functions not only as a religious ritual and cultural tradition, but also as a cultural mechanism that facilitates collective expressions of gratitude, strengthens social solidarity, and sustains Tengger cultural identity. In this context, gratitude is not limited to an individual emotional state; rather, it is enacted through ritual offerings as an acknowledgment of life, agricultural abundance, and shared existence. Collectivism is reflected in the active participation of community members throughout the ritual process, emphasizing shared responsibility, mutual assistance, and group belonging. The findings indicate that gratitude and collectivism reinforce one another within the cultural practice of Yadnya Kasada, making the ritual a social space that shapes psychological well-being, social cohesion, and the continuity of community identity
