Abstract

The society 5.0 era brings significant transformation towards a smart society centered on digital technology. However, Indonesia faces unique challenges, such as limited infrastructure and low digital skills of the workforce. This study aims to analyze Indonesia's digital skills gap in the face of society 5.0, identify its causes, and its impact on economic and social development. The research used mixed methods, involving 400 public and private sector respondents through surveys and 20 key informants through in-depth interviews. The results showed a significant gap between the skills of the workforce and the needs of the industry. This is due to limited access to digital training and the mismatch of the training curriculum with the needs of the digital era. The research emphasizes the importance of collaboration between the government, private sector and educational institutions to develop relevant and inclusive training programs to improve the competitiveness of Indonesia's workforce and support sustainable digital transformation.
