Abstract

The experiments related to the use of Lapindo mud as a substitute for construction materials have been carried out by several researchers, one of them was made as block paving, tile, cement substitution and other product items. This research tries to make product item in the form of plant pots with simple shapes but have thin walls and prone to cracking. In contrast to the making of block paving or tile, the making of this research is aimed at product items as a display or have aesthetic value so that the results of good texture are very necessary. This research uses Lapindo mud material to be made into a product item that tends to have thin wall, several times tried with experiments in various ways, the most effective method is obtained by boiling after the product is dry. After the product is boiled, the texture is smoother, shiny and not easily cracked.
