Abstract

Development of Mobile Geographic Information System Application for location searching and closest route is very important because this application needed by street user or tourist whose come to new stage region. This application also needed by people live in big city such as Jakarta and Surabaya that has large region, so its impossible to memorize all location and road to location that they want to go. Even though people searching location from conventional map, but its not practical. So, Mobile Geographic Information System technology can make it efficient, easy to use everywhere and easy to carry. Right now hand phone based on Android is very popular because many advantages of Android Operating System such as this software is open source and user can make new application inside. Android has integrated Google native such as push mail G mail, Google Maps, and Google Calendar. Long term objective of this research is develop application of location searching and closest route based on mobile. The specific target is develop application of Mobile Geographic Information System based on Android for location searching and closest route. It uses Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm because this algorithm is heuristic and using artificial intelligence, so it make into faster processing and effective
